Sustainable Loungewear for ALL Circumstances

3rd May 2020

Never have we had to spend so much time at home, and while I have a closet full of workwear and weekend outfits, my two home leggings and hole-y shirts with toothpaste stains are no longer making the cut for the homebound days.

Whether you’re relating to this description or you’re just looking for some loungewear inspiration that doesn’t hurt the planet, you’re in the right place.

For the Colder Days

Spring might be well underway in the UK, but if you’re familiar with the British weather temperament, you’ll understand that warm clothes are a must-have.

Jumpers

These jumpers are super cosy and super flattering on the body.

Kotn

“Loopback terrycloth made from 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton. Ethically made in Egypt using direct-trade practices.”

Patagonia

“We increased the size of our cotton quilt diamond pattern, resulting in a softer fabrication. Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.”

Rapanui

This minimal but electric jumper can easily turn into your go-to.

Hoodies

Hoodies are the ultimate couch potato wear. If you don’t have a comfortable hoody to keep you toasty, you are missing out big time.

Kotn

“A naturally stretchy thick wale rib made from 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton. Ethically made in Egypt using direct-trade practices.”

Patagonia

“This 95% recycled hoody is made using 14.9 plastic bottles and 0.82 pounds of cotton scrap, saving 184 gallons of water versus a conventional cotton hoody. Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.”

Rapanui

Blue Planet inspired hoodie in a neutral colour scheme. Made with certified organic cotton and in a renewable energy-powered factory audited for a wide range of social and sustainability criteria.

Leggings

People Tree

“…made from a luxuriously soft and comfortable organic cotton in stretch jersey finish for a close fit, featuring an elasticated waist. Wear all year round, ideal as loungewear, active wear and as a breathable base layer in the colder months”

Finisterre

“The new stretch organic cotton fabric is completely opaque, won’t go baggy, and is now even softer. With their supportive sportswear fabric and high rise cut, the Caligo Leggings are perfect for everything from yoga to everyday wear.”

Pact

“…a new and improved fabric with extra stretch that holds its shape all-day, everyday
Next-to-skin organic cotton is soft, breathable, and hugs you in all the right places.”

For the Warmer Days

Loose Trousers and Shorts

Thought

“The abstract floral print on these trousers was created by hand, by our in-house design team. Crafted from a bamboo and organic cotton blend, they’re soft, stretchy and naturally breathable.”

People Tree

“…jogger-style trouser made from a luxuriously soft and comfortable organic cotton with a weighty, high quality feel. Made from 95% GOTS certified organic cotton with 5% elastane for comfort and movement.”

Thought

Organic cotton chambray shorts with plenty of room for movement. Love the pleating details and yay for pockets! The baby blue combination with the light cotton fabric makes it perfect for those uncomfortably hot days.

One Piece

Thought

A bathrobe is a must for those of us who associate comfort with being in your underwear. Just pop your bathrobe on before leaving your bedroom if you’re not into that nudist life. Unless you have the whole place to yourself. In which case, do karaoke naked.

Komodo

There is something very ludic about dungarees that brings me back to being a kid. Dungarees are great for the weekends when you want to read magazines on the carpet, play lego and make puzzles.

Thought

For those zoom meeting days when you also want to be chilling on the sofa. This stripy jumpsuit is definitely not just loungewear and can is life-saver for the days where you want to look put together but stay comfortable.

Sets

Thought

This beautiful hand-painted botanical print has to be bought separately. They don’t sell it as an ensemble, but you can get the top and bottom. Made of organic cotton and viscose, this loose fit PJ set is the perfect way to spend a mindful morning or cosy evenening binging Netflix.

Pact

Blue stripes are a classic. The nautical theme and fake pocket feature give this little lounging set the perfect amount of character. Made from lightweight, brushed 100% organic cotton, sipping on your morning cup of coffee is bound to be enjoyable.

Tops

Bird Song

“Locally embroidered onto super soft, organic cotton. Featuring a hand drawn motif encouraging us to be tough enough to stand our ground, but also to be tender to ourselves and others.”

Rapanui

An ocean globe mashup. This arty t-shirt is meant to get us thinking about our personal relationships with the ocean. Printed in the UK on organic cotton with low waste printing tech.

Rapanui

“Austin Powers, but make it fashion – that’s what inspired our Flower Power crew neck t-shirt. It’s super summery in mustard and red. And super vibey, packing petals and a punch. The fact that it’s sustainable and made to be remade? Groovy, baby.”
