Who are The Ethical Resistance

When I watched The True Cost of Fashion in 2018, my life changed. I couldn’t look at any commodity of mine in the same way.

I worked in the finance industry at the time and while I already felt like I didn’t belong, I also seemed to be the only one who knew what ethical fashion was and was willing to have a conversation about it.

‘Missguided’ and ‘Topshop’ were often on the lips of my colleagues, and I found myself saying how cute this skirt was or that top was. Just so I could belong in the conversation.

My point is, at multiple points of my life, I found myself on a journey that felt true, but… that also made me feel terribly lonely.

It seemed unfair.

Building a healthy lifestyle that is kinder towards our planet and its beautiful creatures, shouldn’t be a lonely journey. It should be a celebrated one where we feel supported, encouraged and rewarded.

So, we created The Ethical Resistance so that anyone could access the knowledge they need to make their personal journey towards sustainability.

The Ethical Resistance is about sharing our thoughts, addressing our questions, cultivating our minds and, ultimately, it’s about feeling part of something bigger.

I remember wanting to give up so many times because I felt tiny and helpless on my own. How was I going to change the world when it was only me? Tiny little me.

Turns out, it’s not only me. There are so many of us; all doing what we can to help Mother Earth and to protect animals and people who our current system is more than happy to exploit.

Today, we’re over 500 at The Ethical Resistance, resisting the ‘normal’ diets, the ‘normal’ wardrobes, the ‘normal’ amounts of plastic usage, the ‘normal’ fast-paced lives.

And I know our resistance will only become bigger.

I’ve always told myself, “One day, I’ll find my people”. Well, my people are right here, on this platform, taking the time to make a difference in the world.

I hope you find this a safe place to discuss your feelings, your thoughts, your aspirations, your fears and your hopes.

There is a forum where members of our community can talk to each other and our team and contributors create weekly articles covering sustainable fashion, slow living and green beauty.

Feel free to subscribe to the newsletter where we’ll keep you posted on The Ethical Resistance’s movement.

We welcome anyone and everyone to join the Ethical Resistance. Our aim is to help people live a more conscious life without having to reduce their quality of life. We are all here to learn how to adopt alternative ways of living and develop a deeper connection with the world around us.

Ethical Resistance out!
